QUALIFICATIONSAND REQUIREMENTS:

1.    AccreditedDegree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

2. 10years relevant experience in the field of Electrical Appliance ProductEngineering and Development (Preferably Floorcare Products)

3.    5years supervising experience of engineering teams on new product development ofElectrical Mechanical Appliance Product

4.    Strengthin engineering fundamentals and technical project management; Demonstratedleadership skills in mentoring and supervision of technical staff

5.    Provensuccess at managing people and projects in multiple locations; Excellentcommunication skills

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This manager is accountable forDevelopment Engineering aspects of new mechanical and electo-mechanicalproducts and manages all Development Engineers, and dedicated CAD designers,who work on projects.  This manager is toaccomplish the following:

People:

1.         Planthe careers and assignments of the reporting associates with them to thesatisfaction of the objectives of the company and of the individual associate.

2.         Improve and maintain the image ofdevelopment engineering at BISSELL as an effective, efficient and reliablefunction in the company.  Developefficiency and reliability measurements. Improve and maintain the morale of those in development engineering.

3.         Appraisethe performance of each reporting Associate, share with Project Manager in manycases and have ultimate authority in hiring,firing and compensation decision (in cooperation with Human Resources).

4.         Assistin management and administrative duties for the day to day activities of the .

5.         Create an innovative environment.

Planning:

1.         Organize the above mentioneddevelopment resources to support the approved projects. Plan the use of these resources with each Project Manager andTechnical Team Leader.

2.         Cooperate in the mutual setting andimplementation of department goals.

3.         Plan and maintain budgets as assigned.

4.         Plan and execute growth and improvementstrategies for the Development Engineering function at the Asia Dev Center  including: staffing, training, policies, procedures, equipment and other items asdetermined by this manager and approved by direct supervisors.

Projects:

1.         Assure the engineering integrity of newproducts by proper attention to:  testing,safety, standards, careful documentation of specifications and performanceresults, planning and communication by the development engineering staff.

2.         Assure that development activities onnew products are well communicated and understood, and executed in a timely manner asoutlined by BISSELL GPD and other relevant R&D processes and agreed to bythe specific Project Teams.

3.         Assurecomplete technical specifications are defined for new products at theappropriate time during the development process.  Assure proper documentation of thespecifications in the Design Guide, QFD charts (if used), and on part andassembly drawings.

4.         Facilitate the use of BISSELL GPD onall     new product development projectsand appropriate major changes to existing products.

5.         Insure the satisfactory completion ofdevelopment aspects of work contracted by outside firms or suppliers.

6.         Participatein all Design Reviews, Safety Reviews and Phase Reviews on all mechanical orelectro-mechanical products.

7.         Review and approve all test lab reportson mechanical or electro-mechanical products, both new and existing.

8.         Assurethe proper and efficient design of all components and assemblies in 3D CAD byEngineers and CAD Designers.  Assumeresponsibility for adequate design of product and that these designs areefficiently put into 3D CAD and ultimately are documented correctly ondrawings.

9.         Resolve the misalignment in the technical specificationsamong the Project Team members and OEM supplier.
