As a member of the Finance team at italki, you will help power its analytical responsibilities through data. The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis will help set the financial direction for italki in the forms of data acquisition, data manipulation, reporting, analysis, and various ad hoc initiatives to accelerate growth and expansion for the company. You’ll be heavily relied upon as a cornerstone of the growing Finance team that aims to bring financial discipline, analytics, and intelligence to italki.

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of forecasts and budgets including consolidation, forecasting and reporting of the P&L

Responsible for reporting and analyzing financial results and communicating financial performance in presentations

Analyze plans and forecast to understand variances to prior year and budget as well as identify risks and opportunities

Monthly and quarterly closes: assist with the P&L close and pacing process; communicate regularly with operation team and FP&A

Ensure smooth and effective communication and timely and accurate reporting of the operation and financial results

Perform financial analysis on key projects/issues and assist relative department to increase revenue or reduce cost through smart financial decisions

Efficiently acquire, transform, and supply raw data for various Financial and Operational model needs or ad hoc initiatives.

Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, coupled with qualitative insights, and articulate your findings to individuals of varying professional backgrounds.

 

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Minimum 6 years of finance work experience with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role or equivalent experience

Strong background acquiring, researching, and manipulating complex and large data sets

Experience with data visualization tools (Chartio, Tableau, Microstrategy, etc)

Excellent analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of operations and senior management

Strong time-management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment

Ability to work both independently and with a team and have the flexibility to take on miscellaneous tasks as assigned
