Responsibilities:

This position is primarily responsible for implementation of multivariable, model-based control strategies in client facilities worldwide. Activities include:

• Functional design of model-based control strategies.
• Working with client control room operators and process and instrument engineers to complete pretest work and plant response tests. (May require night shift work)
• Analysis of plant response test data to build empirical dynamic process models.
• Configuration and off-line tuning of multivariable controller parameters.
• Building and implementing on-line inferential quality models.
• Commissioning of the completed advanced control application (Night shift coverage may be required.)
• Provide training as required to customer employees and mentor co-workers.
• Provide input to the product development team.
• Participation in commercial proposal development and testing of software upgrades may be occasionally required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years experience implementing commercial software applications with at-least 5 years of implementing APC in process industries (Refinery, Chemicals and/or Polymer plants).
• Demonstrated high level of technical competence.  
• Excellent knowledge of Refinery processes, Chemical processes,  or  Polymer processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead APC projects, work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical skills, as well as technical writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% (calendar year), travel may be domestic or international.
• Experience with AspenTech APC software, i.e. Aspen DMCplus, DMC3, Aspen IQ, Aspen Nonlinear Controller, is an advantage.
