POsition SUmmary

Product Manager IHS - APAC is responsible for leading the industrial heat-tracing & wiring, temperature control & monitoring products and implementing business strategies. The Product Manager will also influence the effective market penetration of those products for long-term, profitable growth (contribution). Based in Shanghai, China, this position will work in close partnership with the global Product Management Team, to align initiatives globally, as well as the Marketing and Marcom teams to develop and execute market promotions, campaigns and training programs for internal and external customers. In addition, he or she will work closely with the Global Product Development organization to drive global and regional product roadmaps and revenue generation from new product introductions on a global basis. He or she will work closely with operations and supply chain to define and implement product line strategies including localization as well as local sourcing initiatives.




Key role responsibilities

  • Product Line Management
  • Watch market trends and potential applications to improve long term strategy of the product road map, align with global roadmaps
  • Identify opportunities for product innovation and improvements
  • Identify key competitors and monitor their product lines
  • Create product/application documents like success stories, case studies as foundation for Marketing Activities
  • Develop pricing strategies and product policies in collaboration with Marketing
  • Support event campaigns to generate product awareness and demand
  • Lead Product Development Projects for new and improved products in close collaboration with regional and global Technology teams
  • Conduct product line analysis in regular base
  • Manage and communicate with cross functional teams
  • Product Support
  • Support assigned Product Lines (technical queries, trainings internal and externally)
  • Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise
  • Develop content for sales tools, training material and marketing collaterals
  • Drive ongoing improvements for product sales and profitability





Qualifications and experience

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Automation, Process or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years professional experience in product management, marketing, or technical of electrical device or control & monitoring system within multinational company.
  • Petrochemical, chemical or Oil & Gas or Energy industry knowledge and working experience is an asset
  • Strong technical background with good business acumen and a strong sales mentality
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Quantitative and business analysis skills
  • Knowledge of Code & Standard, Approvals and product specifications required by design institutes in related business
  • Experience with products for use in hazardous areas (explosive atmospheres) is a plus
  • Fluent in English in speaking, reading and writing
