The Marketing team is the key driver of italki’s business. Our campaigns span through online channels (social media, content, digital ads, email, blogs, publications, affiliate networks, public relations, etc). Being an internet-based business focused on a global market, it is essential that we keep growing and improving our marketing strategy by channeling fresh, innovative ideas and putting them into action.

We are looking for an action-driven, curious individual with a strong balance of both analytical and technical skills. Working from Shanghai, the SEO Specialist will focus on improving italki's organic acquisition channels, across various languages. This position requires the ability to develop, execute and scale SEO projects, while communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will be working closely with the Head of Digital Acquisition on developing the strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

Own all aspects of shaping italki's SEO practices, including on-page, off-page and technical optimizations

Drive effective SEO content programming for websites, social media, blogs etc.

Work closely with the development team and drive SEO initiatives so they're executed according to the requirements and deadlines

Proactively gather insights to increase organic value across different platforms (website, app, app stores, social media etc.)

Monitor and report on SEO performance

Perform regular SEO audits using tools such as Moz, ahrefs, SemRush etc.

Work closely with the marketing team and vendors to continuously optimize the content strategy

Manage vendors and provide clear briefing on project requirements

Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing/IT or similar

1-2 years experience in SEO, website development or related

Experience with website analytics and SEO tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SemRush)

Proven experience at successfully managing and implementing SEO initiatives

Demonstrated ability to gather information, prioritize initiatives, and achieve results on time

Strong technical skills to drive technical SEO enhancements and able to connect and brief technical teams

Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset

Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work in multicultural environment

Fluency in Chinese Mandarin and English

Plus

Passion for languages with language skills in addition to required English

?Experience in high tech, software development, education technology industries

?Experience in growing and scaling company growth or start up team experience

?Experience in companies with global / regional presence with multiple offices across different regions
