Job Responsibilities:

The Role of the Supply Chain Manager is to support, grow and continuously improve the supply chain activities.

He/she will be the critical in developing procurement / supply chain processes

1) Formulate and implement procurement strategies for the entire business; develop and standardise processes across the business;

2)  Manage pricing of materials and services through market analysis and ensure raw material and component availability in line with manufacturing demands.

3) Research and develop new supply sources;

4)  Develop continuous cost reduction initiatives;

5) Support and develop the purchasing team to ensure all KPIs and objectives are met;

6) Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.

Job Requirements:

1) Bachelor of Science or the equivalent degree with at least seven years of mechanical industry experience;

2) An unimpeachable standard of integrity in all business relationships both inside and outside of the company;

3) Good team builder with a coaching style of management;

4) Interest in market dynamics along with a strong business sense;

5)  Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures and the ability to present data to senior staff;

6) Strong negotiator;

7) Tenacity to follow through on tough business decisions;

8) Analytical, accurate and performance orientated;

9) Computer literate;

10) Experience in a steel based component manufacturing, assembly environment, rail industry  preferred.
