Job Purpose :

• Act as a champion to improve the process safety performance across all entities in the Elkem Group
• Secure consistent deployment of Elkem’s process safety standards across plants and process units.
• Quality assurance of process safety related challenges in Elkem’s investment projects, covering both the development (FEL1-3) and the execution phases.
• Continuously develop Elkem’s process safety policy and standards, by combining recent developments in process safety regulations and international standards, benchmarking of process safety industry leaders and Elkem’s best practices.

          

Job Description :

• 70%: Serve as the leading Process Safety Professional for all Elkem activities.
• Define the global Process safety policy based on best practice from existing Elkem methodologies, benchmark of industry leaders and international regulations.
• Maintaining high levels of Process Safety expertise and coaching of operations personnel within all the Elkem divisions, sites.
• Coordinating with Elkem Corporate and Site EHS personnel to ensure Process Safety focus and risk reduction
• Contributing to continuous reduction Process Safety Risk at Elkem through the identification and implementation of technologies and methodologies for improving safety of processes and workstations.
• In collaboration with VP of EHS and CSR and divisional EHS directors, audit process safety activities in Elkem sites and projects.
• Guide and Coach Project Managers and Process Coordinators on applying Process Safety Principles to investment projects.
• Analyzing process data and driving implementation of digital tools to identify and eliminate process safety risk.

• 20%: Validate Process safety studies in investment projects according to Elkem Investment process (the ones with Corporate or Board approval, as well as divisional projects with high process safety risks)

• 10% Define and organize reporting of process safety KPIs for regular monitoring of the process safety risk level across the Elkem Group.

                          

  

Job Requirement:

• Engineer with long experience (over 15 years) in Chemical industry or from a Global Engineering company with established state of the art process safety functions.
• Skills:  Expert in Process safety methodologies such as Risk Assessment, QRA, HAZID, HAZOP, etc. Able to communicate in both Chinese and English languages. Knowledge about metallurgy, (silicones) chemistry and technical safety (machinery & electrical) will be a plus.
• Experience: Management of diverse, multi-cultural teams with varied experience and competencies. 
• Extensive travel required to visit Elkem sites routinely
