JOB TITLE: Project Leader – Blinds/Decorative
BUSINESS GROUP/DEPT: ODL Asia
REPORTS TO: Program Manager- ODL Asia
Location: SuZhou

JOB SUMMARY

Provide oversight for production, scheduling, engineering, and quality activities for blinds and decorative products and sub-components in China.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides Project Management Support. Assist the program manager to manage ODL China supply bases in developing and successfully launching new products and technologies. Manages timelines for the launch activities in China and ensures that the requirements of the ODL NPDP process are carried out.
2. Acts As Liaison for ODL. Act as a liaison between ODL corporate new product development team and the Asia supply bases. Facilitate timely and effective communications between the China supplier base and ODL Asia internal customers. Serve as a translator for business meetings and written correspondence.
3. Supports ODL Asia Purchasing and Sourcing Activities. Work with the program managers, support ODL internal customers and ODL China manufactures on purchasing and sourcing activities, including new product, new supplier assessment and qualification audits etc., ODL quality and engineering request communication, sample shipping, tracking, new production introduction implementation at China supplier bases.
Support ODL Asia internal manufacture on raw material market price analysis, supplier material readiness checking, production preparation etc., develop cost reduction opportunities on ODL China products.
4. Promotes Continuous Improvement Activities. Work in conjunction with the China suppliers and ODL in developing and implementing continuous improvement projects. This includes but is not limited to improvement activities for quality, delivery, lead-time, production processing and cost reduction.
5. Coordinates and Perform Quality System and Manufacturing Process Audits. Support ODL Asia quality manager on supplier development program. Work with ODL quality engineers to ensure that the quality systems at the China suppliers conform to requirements of ODL by performing and coordinating routine systems audits, and providing written reports on the findings and follow-up activities. Also audits the critical manufacturing processes and provides feedback to ODL and to the leadership of the supplier.
6. Performs Other Duties As Assigned. May perform similar duties for suppliers and projects not related to above described items .


COMPETENCIES

1. BA or BS in Business or a Technical discipline is preferred. Fluency in written and oral English is required.
2. Over 8 years experience in project and engineering/or quality management. Experience in APQP is preferred but not required.
3. Glass Industry or Window Treatment Industry is preferred but not required. Experience in working with Foreign Owned Enterprises is preferred.
4. Is positive and respectful when interacting with others. Is approachable and open to constructive feedback. Willing to work as part of a team and focus on solving problems.
5. Works well under pressure and is willing to take on new assignments. Proactive in addressing issues. Works independently to accomplish the mission of the organization.
6. Maintains a professional attitude at all times. Must be discreet and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
