As a Linguistic Editor you will work in the ISI Editorial team and be responsible for the translation of English editorial publications to Chinese language.  In some cases a translation from Chinese to English language will also be required, though infrequently. 

You will translate publications that are written, analytical in nature and contain both text and charts.  You will need to read and it is critical that you thoroughly understand the content so previous experience working with business information, analytical text and long pieces is necessary. You need to be be familiar with the more formal style of this type of analyses in both Chinese and English. 

* Get familiar with the specialised terminology pertaining to macroeconomics, specific industries, finance and other business-related fields

 * Ensure that specialised subject matter and concepts are translated accurately 

* Make sure that translated texts convey original meaning and tone

* Maintain a Style Guide to ensure consistency and accuracy of translations 

* Proofread the finished texts to meet the Editorial quality standards 

* Communicate and collaborate closely with Editorial team members 

* Abide by the Editorial publication schedule and plan work accordingly 

* Other duties as requested by your immediate manager 

* A degree in Translation or other fields related to linguistic knowledge of the Chinese or English language is a plus. 

* An excellent command of Chinese and English 

* Proven track record as Translator, Interpreter or similar role 

* A good understanding of economic concepts and terminology 

* A clear writing style and excellent proofreading skills 

* Rigorous attention to detail 

* Independent and able to work under schedule 

* Good interpersonal and communication skills 

* Experience with Power Point and Excel
