Job brief – Nordisk Asia Graphic Designer

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics and content for a variety of artworks and media for the products of our Outdoor brands NORDISK and GRAND CANYON.

What is the role of the Graphic Designer?

The Graphic Designer job description includes the entire process of translating design briefs, requirements and artwork requests into pleasant artwork output that is print-ready or processible otherwise, internally and externally. The main focus of the Grahpic Designer lies on visualising and creating graphics and content including illustrations, layouts and a variety of product artworks. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of product prints and artworks, product & brand labelling, product books and manuals, product packaging, workbooks, catalogues, marketing materials and point-of-sale materials among other things.

Your graphics & contents should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design – down to the finest details. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you.

The goal is to inform, educate, inspire and attract the target audience on a constant, recognisable high quality level.

Responsibilities

? Study design briefs and determine requirements

? Breaking down projects and schedule projects

? Conceptualise visuals based on requirements

? Prepare rough drafts and present ideas

? Develop illustrations, contents and other designs using state-of-the-art technology and software

? Blending visual contents and copywrite contents into high quality product artworks

? Use of appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic and content according to corporate design rules and requests

? Work with Nordisk R&D team, merchandisers, global marketing and copywriters to produce final design

? Amend designs after feedback and bring them into a format that can be processed internally and externally

? Ensure final graphics and layouts always are on-brand and on-brief down to the smallest detail

? Quality control and inspection of any graphics and contents output and any print files created

Requirements:

? College degree or above

? Good (well above medium) verbal and written English +  Mandarin skills

? Proven graphic designing experience

? A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

? Familiarity with up-to-date design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop – of which InDesign is key and absolutely mandatory)

? A keen eye for aesthetics and smallest details is mandatory

? Good communications skills and a positive attitude

? Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

? High degree of discipline and capable of working individually and in a team.

? Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus

? Completion of the Nordisk Graphic Design Exercise (which will be provided to candidates) 

? Experience with outdoor products an advantage.
