Demonware creates and provides the online services behind hugely popular video game franchises such as Call of Duty and Skylanders. We provide matchmaking, microtransactions, storage and account management services for almost half a billion users. Team / Role Summary

The Network Engineering team is part of the Infrastructure Department with responsibility for all network, compute and storage infrastructure across a global network of data centers. As a network engineer with Demonware you will have ownership of the networking domain and the design, build and operation of our network of data centres. We are looking for an experienced network engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• This position requires a minimum of 4+ years experience
• Providing day-to-day operational support of network infrastructure
• Assisting in the implementation and growth of Demonware’s network infrastructure
• Diagnosing and resolving outages and following up on root cause analysis
• Working with other teams in Demonware to deploy new services and solutions
• Working with a global network of vendors to procure, build and maintain our network fleet
• Maintenance of documentation relating to network design and implementation

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience working with large scale networks in a global 24/7 environment
• Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP
• Excellent working knowledge of routing, switching and firewalling
• Excellent working knowledge of load balancing technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent analytical / troubleshooting skills
• Can work well under high pressure
• Quick learner
• Has initiative, and is able to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision
• Willing to take part in second-level on-call rota

Desired

• 4+ years of data networking experience
• 2+ years of practical data centre & infrastructure experience
• Familiarity with network/system services eg BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, NAT, DNS, DHCP, VPN
• Network automation with Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack or similar
• Strong Linux skills: Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat or similar
• Strong scripting skills: Unix shell programming and ideally at least one of Python or Perl, to assist with identification and automation of repetitive tasks
• Network and/or security certifications are highly desirable (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP)
