Summary:

  Support HQ based designers and Shanghai based sourcing & production  coordinators with product/material/component color matching and lab testing  processes to ensure the highest level of product color achievability and  continuity.  Primary products include knit cold weather accessories such  as hats, scarves, gloves, etc.

  

  Key Responsibilities

  

  · Work closely with suppliers (factories & mills) on HQ and retailer/customer  requested color guidance and requirements, ensuring color matching  and continuity of primary raw materials, trims and products for all  programs/orders between seasons.

· Provide color / color approval comments to suppliers in a timely manner for lab dips, prints, bulk & trim lab dips & shorten the color approval turn time.

· Coordinate with developers & suppliers to advise on and solve color / fastness achievability and issues.

· Check and track submissions for color & fastness issues and provide solutions for improvement to related product developer. 

· Coordinate and generate material color reports, including but not limited to fabric lab and trim approval tracking as related to development calendars.

· Execute material color fastness testing according to latest laboratory standards.

· Translate test results into recommendations for material, component and product development 

· Ensure proper data management in the respective systems in timely and accurate format.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities 

     

·  Superior color acuity 

·  Expert knowledge of laboratory colorfastness testing, dyeing processes

·  Basic knowledge of manufacturing

·  Strong time management and organizational skills

·  Good interpersonal and communication skills.

·  Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere

·  Computer literacy (Word & Excel)

·  Fluent in English

·  Experience with US or EU retailers such as Walmart, Target, Carrefour, Costco, etc highly preferred.

 

Qualifications 

  ·  4- year College/University degree

·  2-4 years working experience in color evaluations/approvals/testing in dyeing and textiles
