General Summary: 

Responsible for the coordination of merchandising operation and import buying activities, including order follow-up, sample approval, and supplier relations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the coordination of daily operational activities in product development, preproduction sample development, costing, preliminary screening and production tracking.

2. Manages costing packages of various programs and ensures pricing competitiveness. Facilitates price negotiation process with vendors.

3. Communicates preproduction sample specifications with factories.

4. Tracks preproduction sample development and ensures matching of samples against required specifications and quality standards.

5. Tracks and manages production processes properly to meet quantity, quality, order specification and delivery dates requirements.

6. Diagnoses production problems and work with factories to present alternatives to both Global Sourcing team and local management.

7. Communicates order details and requirements to factories and parties concerned.

8. Coordinates sourcing trip schedules and logistics; and compliance, QA and logistics activities.

9. Educates vendors on company business Standard Operating Procedures.

10. Identifies, assesses and recommends new factories for inclusion to vendor matrix.

11. Identifies training and development needs with supervisor.

12. Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge:

- Fluency in English (written and oral)

- Excellent written and oral communication skills 

- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to travel internationally as required

Work Experience &/or Education:

- University degree preferred.

- 5 to 7 years’experience in merchandising.

- Experience working with overseas buyers and vendors.
