Minimum Qualifications Required:

·MS or Ph.D. degree in Controls, HVAC/R, Automation, Mechatronics

·  Fluent English (both written and spoken) and excellent communication skills

·  Fundamental control theory

Preferred Qualifications:

·  MS or Ph.D. in Controls, Automation, Mechatronics

·  Experiences in model based control development for HVAC/R system

·  Expertise in control algorithm development and control system architecture design

·  Expertise in HVAC system level controls experience

·  Proficiency in controller development software (like C/C++/Matlab/Simulink), real time operating system and communication protocols

·  Project leadership experiences

·  Solid technical writing, presentation, project management and communication skills

·  Good English skills on both written and speaking

Scope of work

CARRIER has an opening for an HVAC system Control Engineer to serve as a vital member of the Connected Systems and Controls group in Advanced Solutions and Technologies team based in Shanghai, China.The Connected Systems and Controls group is responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art HVAC plant system controls and building level control solutions, connected services with data analytics, fault detection and diagnostics that are used by CARRIER HVAC and Refrigeration service team and building system group for Carrier’s air-conditioning and refrigeration system operation and maintenance.

Accountabilities

·         Be responsible for developing adaptive building level control system algorithms including define requirements, design control architecture and logics, develop control software, field trials and validation, etc;

·         Develop control algorithms including model-predictive control  and load prediction based control, etc, and perform lab validation for HVAC and Refrigeration system

·         Execution of control system optimization pilot projects including implementation of new control strategies, coordinating with internal and external customers, tests, qualification and trouble shooting, etc;

·         Develop standard work for control products including specifications and training materials, etc;

·         Generate innovative concepts and solutions for HVAC&R system control and health management

·         Participate in global multidisciplinary projects, ensuring on-time and high quality deliverables

·         Other work items arranged by supervisor
