European retailer is looking for Garden and Pet Senior Merchandiser that will be located in our Shanghai sourcing office.

  

The person will be in charge of a range of products (from sourcing to shipment) and we'll need to work closely with the French Head Office, Chinese manufacturers, and service providers an monitor his/her team in order to ensure timely deliveries to our stores in Europe.

  

Duties/Responsibilities :

1- SOURCING 

Prospection :   

Go to fairs, exhibition and internet to source new suppliers and products,

  

Visit those suppliers (BSCI compliant manufacturers) to assess their capabilities and brief them on our process,

  

Validate and evaluate suppliers to include them in our suppliers’ list.

  

  

2- COMMERCIAL  

  

Offers

  

To propose products corresponding to the requests / specifications / targets from the French buying team

  

  

Price negotiation

  

To prepare and report the negotiation according to the price strategy formulated

  

Selection  

To organize and attend the selection trip, show-room arrangement, samples presentation / on-time sending

  

  

3- MANAGEMENT  

  

To monitor the work done on follow-up to make sure the goods are shipped on time,

  

To make sure the team follow the company process

  

  

  

  

Required :

  

- Very good level in English (speaking+writing),

  

- Knowledge of international trade, computer skills -MS Office, Internet, emails...

  

- Minimum of Seven years work experience in Buying/ Import & Export operations similar to ours, if possible for Garden and Pet items

  

- Very good negotiation and commercial skills

  

- Strong sense of organization and detail-oriented

  

- Flexible and open to changes

  

- Good communication skill that will allow to communicate efficiently with both the colleagues in France but also with Chinese suppliers and service providers
