Job Responsibilities

1.        To proactively operate as business partner of Medical and External Innovation, providing professional and efficient legal support according to laws and regulations as well as company policies and industrial code.

2.        Provide legal advice for Medical and External Innovation;

3.        Proactively participate into critical projects and provide related legal support;

4.        Monitor a thorough understanding of the legal development, perform legal research, communicate with related government authorities to understand the most recent legal environment developments on Medical and External Innovation, and advise related functions on the legal interpretation, implications and opportunities for the company’s operations;

5.        Coordinate effectively with related colleagues of Corporate Legal Department to identify the needs and obtain effective support to meet the local business requirement;

6.        Establish, review and revise legal-related procedures, policies and guidelines;

7.        Handle local legal disputes through negotiation, mediation or litigation; provide legal support on product protection and government investigation;

8.        Monitor and supervise external counsels;

9.        Provide legal training to related functions of Medical and External Innovation when necessary;

10.    Other tasks as designated by VP of Legal.

Qualifications

1.        Degree: Bachelor degree in PRC law or above

2.        Over 8 years post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or comparable in-house working experience in a reputable multi-national company, familiar with contract and general corporate work; experiences in pharmaceutical or life science industry are preferred; experience in developing and reviewing clinical trial, clinical study and research contracts are preferred;

3.        PRC Bar Qualification is a must;

4.        Good understanding of PRC law, sound business acumen and commercial awareness and practically-oriented, ability to identify and resolve legal issues effectively and independently;

5.        Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (written & verbal);

6.        Computer literacy, familiar with all Microsoft applications;

7.        Self-motivated, hard-working, detail-minded, clear thinker, quick learner, team player and ability to work independently under pressure.

8.        Language skills & proficiency: Proficient in English
