Chassis Engineering component engineer responsible for the delivery of wheels, tyres and the wheel and tyre assembly including all release activities up to launch and supplier management. Initially on localisation programmes delivering "make to print" components, transitioning to new model design as future programmes develop.
Lead engineering activities including the application delivery of the wheel and tyre commodities from programme start to launch inc. target setting, component development, supplier engagement, component release, relevant build support activities, component and vehicle sign-off including production validation.
The role will have no direct reports. Successful candidate will however be required to manage the supplier and lead the internal cross functional activities required to deliver the component.
1. Degree in Engineering / Engineering related field (BEng / BSC) – BEng Mechanical Engineering Desirable. User/Essential
2. At least 3 year relevant commodity delivery experience. User / Advanced/Essential
3. Good technical component knowledge inc. production processes across the commodity group (Wheels and Tyres).
User / Advanced/Essential
4. Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English. Advanced/Essential
5. Experience of joint venture component localisation with multi national OEM . User/Desirable
6. Willing to travel within China and Internationally. User/Desirable
7. Willing to take the lead and challenge others to deliver. User/Desirable
8. Good general computer skills inc. MS office suite. User/Desirable
