Job Description

1. Reporting to the Sourcing Director, you will lead the QC team.

The role will take responsibility for developing the QC team, coaching and supervising team members on their work to increase the efficiency of Quality Control activities.

You will work closely with vendors and POM team in Asia on QC. This position will also be responsible to lead the deployment of a more disciplined skip inspection process, leading to increased efficiency and profitability.

2. Additionaly the role will take responsibility for doing product analysis for new items, inline items (production), valuable items and QC defect items or any other potential quality issues; you will also take charge of follow up/monitor QE Roll-out project.

3. Responsible for daily management and efficiency improvement of QC team to provide QC services to the company.


  • Hire/train/coach/dismiss and manage the QC team members aligned with Companies policies and in conjunction with HR.
  • Plan, organize and control all Quality Control activities and develop KPI’s to be measured against.
  • Define operation rules for skip inspections
  • Ensure inspection requirements are communicated properly and QC inspectors are trained on proper inspection methods and techniques
  • Review and approve inspection schedules and skip inspection arrangements, monitor inspector movements, and audit inspection effectiveness
  • Review inspection results, coordinate with vendors / POM coordinators / Sourcing merchandisers on final disposition for rejected lots or those with questionable results and ensure accuracy of inspection summary reports
  • Review and ensure that inspection aids (reference samples, specifications, Purchase Order info) are available and adequate for inspectors to conduct inspection effectively


Audit factory operations to ensure factories are producing goods accordance with manufacturing Send PO to WZ QC coordinator (for SH QC coordinator only)


  • Organize with QC Engineers in training of QC inspectors regarding use of inspections checklists and the operation of needed test equipment
  • Review all new products and prepare quality plans with regards to vendor selection, design review, pre-production pilot evaluations.
  • Prepare inspection specifications, disseminate same to QC, merchandisers and vendors, and explain to QC inspectors its implementation.
  • Work with R&D Engineers, Merchandisers and vendors on all new developments to conduct evaluations and testing needed to confirm full compliance to all applicable mandatory standards and customer-specified requirements.
  • Coordinate sample submissions for lab testing and Approved Sample selection.
  • Conduct analysis of failures encountered during pre-production evaluations / inspections / end-use and follow-up corrective action implementation.



Requirements:


  1. University graduated or above
  2. At least 5 years’experience in similar capacity
  3. Management experience
  4. Experience in working for a trading company environment
  5. English fluent both oral & writing
  6. Self-confident to speak in front of a large audience
  7. Expert in Excel
  8. Good at PPT
  9. Good Management skills
  10. Strong analytical skills
  11. Ability to work independently as well as in a Team/ self starter
  12. Strong negotiation skills
  13. Willing to travel several times per month
  14. Customer service minded
  15. Results / deadlines minded
