Job Description of Housemaster

1. Assist Head of Boarding and Pastoral Care to lead the school’s pastoral strategies.

2. Secure the highest quality care and wellbeing for every student in their house. Caring for his boarders' physical and mental well-being, guiding them daily and offering them support and advice.

3. A vast range of duties and responsibilities, ranging from the pastoral care of their boarders to everyday basic maintenance, laundry and organizational tasks.

4. To be responsible for the house parents and housekeepers in his house and build positive work environment.

5. To ensure effective communication of pastoral issues, respecting confidentially where necessary.

6. Build close link with families of students, encouraging parental involvement in students’ education where appropriate.

7. Design and organize different kinds of school activities for students to achieve whole person education.

8. To perform other duties as assigned by the head of boarding and pastoral care.

Requirement

1.  Experience in a boarding school and residential care

2. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good manner with parents, guardians and other staff.

3. Ability to work well in a team.

4. Ability to supervise a team of domestic staff.

5. Ability to offer a high level of pastoral care to students.

6. Emotional resilience; Enthusiastic; Be patient, unflappable, flexible and adaptable.

7. Basic office work skills.  

8. Excellent Oral English or Native
