We are looking to hire a Cloud Engineer (1 year contractor). This role will be primarily focus on all operations and engineering aspects of our future public cloud infrastructure environment. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow with a strong engineering team, owning and operating a complex and challenging set of technologies.

  

This role requires interaction with other Blizzard technical teams, therefore strong communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a desire for delivering great customer services. 

  

Responsibilities

• Design, build and automate public cloud infrastructure
• Support the migration of on-prem applications to the public cloud
• Maintain public cloud security with common best practices
• Perform troubleshooting activities including analyzing log files or solution code
• Participate in cross-functional discussions to define and improve common tooling
• Create CI/ CD pipeline environments to automate repeatable processes
• Create and peer-review infrastructure code created by team members
• Take ownership of projects that matter from technical design to implementation
• Document operational processes and procedures

• Cloud LiveOps - participate in global public cloud production support and take on-call duties within a following the sun model

  

Requirements

• Intermediate Linux experience. Know why things work on a Linux system such as DNS, NTP, LDAP

• Familiar and have experience with public cloud technologies, architecture, and methodologies for any of Public Cloud Services such as GCP, Alibaba cloud, AWS and Azure

• Experience in managing public cloud products. E.g. AWS VPC, EC2, IAM, Direct Connect, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch; Alibaba cloud RAM, ECS, Express connect, CEN, OSS, CloudMonitor

• Knowledgeable of virtual networks, routers, switches, firewalls and deep understanding TCP/IP networking concepts

• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts and related tools. e.g. Git, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet

• Experience in Jenkins, Gitlab and Docker Container technology for task automation

• Good working knowledge in common coding languages like Bash, Python or Golang     

• Familiar with OpenStack cloud environment and concepts

  

Pluses

• Experience working with Openstack storage primitives such as Swift and Cinder
• Knowledgeable of the difference between the China AWS Region and Non-China Region
• Experience on Jira and confluence
• Familiar and experience with DevOps
