Primary Function:

To perform product evaluations project for retailer, supplier and manufacturer

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Handles test programs on consumer products and prepare the associated documentation, including collecting and reviewing data and writing reports.
• Conducts testing when assigned.
• Assumes responsibility for the completion of assigned projects within negotiated time and cost schedules.
• May train or supervise others.
• May work with minimal or no supervision.
• Reviews programs and identifies further needs to the customer.
• Communicates with customers and other stakeholders as needed.
• Researches standards and equipment.  Designs and may build test set ups and equipment.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory or research and development/testing role
• Basic knowledge of North American Electrical Code, EU regulation. Familiar with CSA, UL, IEC and EN standards for home appliance and power tools
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment is a must; machine shop experience is a plus
• Adequate computer knowledge
