职位描述
NYU Shanghai seeks to fill multiple short-term contracted positions for a special student program for the following Fall semester (September 2020 to January 2021).
Position Summary
This position will be a member of the HR Immigration and Relocation Service team to assist international faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and administrative staff with their relocation to Shanghai.
To serve for the function, the candidate will be collaborating with other internal functions such as Finance, Faculty Services, IT, Campus & Facilities, Public Safety, Student Life, etc. and liaising with external organizations mainly include relocation companies, real estate agents, immigration agents, international schools, and other service providers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key point of contact for faculty, staff and their families, coordinating pre-assignment, on-assignment, and repatriation planning and providing on-the-ground support for immigration clearance, shipping, settling-in orientation, housing, schooling, concierge services (e.g. mobile phones, bank account, etc.) and other daily life enquiries and needs;
- Assist the Assistant Director of Immigration and Relocation Services in managing external service providers and oversee vendor invoices, payments, etc.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Immigration and Relocation Services in maintaining internal and external communications on a variety of individual and general issues, handling routine day to day miscellaneous inquiries and requirements;
- Advise and provide immigration guidance to recruiters and hiring managers on the hiring of expatriates;
- Maintain personal and immigration data in Workday and manage reports to local authorities in a responsive, accurate, and timely manner.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelor degree or above, preferably in HR, Business Administration, International Business, Social Sciences or other relevant disciplines;
Required Experience
- Previous HR global mobility experience will be a plus but not necessary, and experience living abroad is desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin;
- Strong communication and customer care skills with a focus on empathy and sensitivity to intercultural complexities;
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and perform complex collaborative tasks;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
- Good problem-solving skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- High professional integrity, honesty, and trust.
