Position Summary:
Full responsibility for the design and implementation of roll forming tooling for tubes and sections, manufactured out of steel or stainless steel.
Role & Responsibilities:
Design of roll forming tooling is related to
· Tooling for shaping and forming the sections or tubes
· Tooling for the welding box in case of tubes
· Dies for pre and post punching applications
· Quality inspection features and devices
· All related drawings and specifications
Implementation of roll forming tooling is related to
· Development of procedures and instructions for assembly and dis-assembly of tooling
· Transfer of design knowhow into the real life of roll forming technology and vice versa (link between design and practice experience)
· Conduct testing tryouts with record data, and transforming this data into procedures and instructions
· Set-up of tooling data base, with link to CAD systems
· Assistance to production, related to the roll forming tooling and its application
· Set-up diagnose systems for trouble shooting tooling related
Key Requirements:
· Mechanical engineer, bachelor / Master degree, high knowhow level of metal forming applications (both theoretical as practical experience). Basic experience of roll forming technology is advisable.
· Very well trained in the use of CAD systems as AutoCAD. Knowledge of Inventor is advisable.
· High level knowledge of COPRA (DATA-M) design software is required, but in case of no or limited experience, training facilities are foreseen
· Principles of FEA (Finite Element analysis) is advisable, while FEA is used for simulation purposes
· Good knowledge of English language, able to communicate to design offices in Europe and USA
· Team spirit
· Open spirit, many approaches towards final lay-out of roll forming tooling are available and can be influenced by a lot of parameters
· High level of accuracy
· Willing to link design and theory with real life execution (roll forming line)
· Sense for high accuracy
· Leadership and responsibility
