Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Brand to deliver the product in the right quality, at a competitive price and within the designated time frame
• Source new suppliers & new products
• Work closely with the Suppliers and QA team for product safety
• Product submission and sample follow up
• Manage purchase orders and ensure all orders are delivered on time
• Work closely with the packaging team for packaging developments
• Identify appropriate suppliers and build up long term working relationship
• Monitor supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements
• Work with buyers in buying trips

Requirements:

• Form 7 or above
• At least five years merchandising experience, preferably in Hard goods and DIY items
• Good product knowledge in lifestyle products like garden tools, hose and hose fittings, garden decorative items, outdoor furniture etc.
• Familiarity with quality standards in these categories
• Attention to detail, project organisational ability and a strong work ethic are assumed
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation, sourcing and influencing skills
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English & Cantonese. Mandarin is an essential
• Ability to communicate directly with both buyer and vendor is critical
• Well-versed in computer applications - MS office
• Occasional travel to China is required
