DtV Engineer
Generic Description:
The DtV (Design to Value) Engineer is responsible to create, propose and track design ideas in order to provide any value added to the vehicle, such as, increase quality, cost and weight optimization and design improvements for the assigned programs.
The DtV engineer is responsible to provide proposals in order to comply with Corporate and Local Requirements for parts validation, considering the Worldwide Customers Requirements, ES (Engineering Specifications) and SDS (Systems Design Specifications) as well as the Manufacturing and Assembly requirements.
Specific Description:
1. Knowledge and application of six sigma and 8D's (to be familiar with Problem solving processes).
2. Knowledge and application of VTS (Vehicle Technical Specifications), SSTS (System and Subsystem Technical Specifications).
3. Understand and apply Vehicle Development Process / PLM (Program Lifecycle Management) process.
4. Comply with Program cost, weight, quality, performance and timing targets.
5. Create, analyze and propose validation test for DtV ideas.
6. Participate (actively) and/or perform brainstorming sessions, workshops, teardowns, etc.
Skills required for the position:
? English proficiency.
? Ability to communicate and interact with others.
? Time, tasks and work pressure management.
? General knowledge of vehicle functions.
? Vision and knowledge of automotive industry environment.
? 3D CAD knowledge (opening files, visualization, measurements, sections, etc.).
? Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point).
? Basic knowledge of materials properties.
? Basic knowledge on production process.
? Ability to create "mock ups"
? Creative thinking, open minded, and capable to provide functional engineering solutions, innovate and optimize.
EDUCATION
? Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent (minimum).
EXPERIENCE
? 3+ years of experience in product development using 3D / 2D CAD design tools on an OEM

DtV Engineer is responsible for executing independently the engineering tasks pertaining to the cost optimization and vehicle improvement. Also, he or she will be responsible for continuous development of his or her technical skills based on his or her assigned tasks.
