·       The vehicle test engineer is responsible for:

o Conducting vehicle tests on brake functions.

o Develop and propose test methods for vehicle test.

o Prepare and conduct the vehicle testing in track and customer side in line with performance requirements and design verification plan.

o Evaluate the test data after field testing, generate the test report.

o   Taking part in developing systems, processes and procedures for an efficient product validation process.

p   Communicate with customer to clarify the requirement and optimize the test solution

o    Identify the root cause if test failed, recognize the abnormal behavior from brake or other system in vehicle.

o   Support technical benchmarking of competitor’s products and solutions

p   Corporate with application engineering and marking team to support the customer vehicle testing if needed

o   Supporting in 8D problem solving if any warranty claims arises

·       Interfaces within organization

o   Report and escalate proactively to Verification and Validation lead

·       Interface with suppliers and customer organization

o   Act as the voice of company towards the suppliers and customer

o      Meet customer expectations and works for successful business implementation

Key competencies

·       Vehicle test experience in track from OEM or braking companies, focus on commercial vehicle is preferred.

·       Familiar with the vehicle test process and relevant measurement devices operation (eg: V-box or relevant equipment), knowledge of vehicle test setup / onside operation, experience of brake system testing is preferred

·       Familiar with measurement device application

·       Product and process knowledge, commercial vehicles and/or automotive subsystem 

·       Quality / safety awareness and responsibility

Key roles and responsibilities

·       Product knowledge

§    Applies a detailed level of commercial knowledge and experience especially of brake system to enable customer credibility and to be able to propose solutions and methods for conducting verification and validation

§    Applies a high level of vehicle system knowledge to understand customers’ needs and propose test methods to simulate the same

 

§    Applies a high level of product testing knowledge to ensure EMB verification and validation process will be thorough and complete, record and evaluate the test trace after road testing, delivery the correct and necessary hints / findings to R&D internal

Experience, Education, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

·       Bachelor’s  or Master’s degree in automotive or mechanical engineering

·       Product testing of mechanics and/or electro mechanics in automotive segment, commercial vehicle is preferred,

·       Familiar with the DAQ operation, for instance: V-Box, has experience to setup and adapt the measurement device to fulfill the testing tasks,

·       Willingness of study new technology, good team works

·       Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills

·       Languages: English and preferably customer specific language
