Manager Business Development specialty chemicals China
Ahlers, active since 1909, is an international maritime and logistics service provider with distinct but connected activities: maritime services, agencies and integrated logistics solutions such as warehousing, packing and packaging, transport and distribution, value-added services and projects. To support our national and international growth, Ahlers is looking for a profile responsible for the development of Ahlers' logistics solutions to the chemical industry in the Chinese market and communicating very closely with the Ahlers headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium. Ahlers has 7 locations in China with local headquarters in Shanghai and is a well-established chemical logistics provider in Europe.
Your role:
Within the Chinese market of specialty chemicals, you are looking for business opportunities where logistic solutions to the chemical industry create added value
As a business developer, you analyze the supply chain flows of your chemical prospects and offer them tailor made logistic solutions.
You take the lead in working out budget proposals in line with the strategy and you involve the Chinese and European management
You organize sales actions and events to create new customer contacts that are finally leading to long term agreements in line with the chemical business strategy.
You negotiate with various interlocutors from purchase to production, logistics, or sales and marketing whom you convince of the added value of your solutions and services
Your home base office is China (Shanghai)
Your profile:
You hold a university degree combined eventually with a strong commercial background in a B2B function, ideally within the logistic sector
You have experience with the chemical industry and preferably can rely on your network
You like to develop new markets by actively prospecting new potential customers.
You can work independently and you are driven by achieving (team) sales results
An asset: you have experience and a proven track record in successfully finishing international deals is an advantage
You are a hands-on person and you play an active role in setting-up the solution for your customer
