? Learning and understanding company’s HR policies, practices and culture quickly
? Developing a sound grasp of company’s business and its organisation
? Demonstrate ability as a business partner to value add to the line managers
? Ensuring the continued integration of companies is carried out smoothly
? Grow presence in Asia through organic and external growth
? Drive the creation of a first class talent base
? Assist in all M&A and divestment activities
Key Result Areas/Performance Measurement
The person’s success would be measured in terms of his/her ability to deliver the objectives agreed upon.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should be degree-qualified and a well established and professional HR generalist.
He/She must have at least 10 years experience working in a subsidiary of an American/European multinational in a cross cultural environment, is international in outlook, understands and appreciates the style and needs associated with American companies.
The person must be able to add value to the business by being a Business Partner yet be hands on as this is a medium sized organisation with limited resources.
Working knowledge of the employment laws and competitive practices in Greater China, Japan and Korea is essential.
Ability to converse in Mandarin is mandatory and the ability to read/write Chinese is a nice to have.
Working experience in the Chemical industry business is a significant advantage but not mandatory. Candidates can come from related industries such as industrial, healthcare, pharmaceuticals etc that has sales operations as well as a manufacturing component.
The person must have intellectual horsepower, leadership ability, but is pragmatic and able to develop relationships with the line managers to be their “coach and confidante”.
Key attributes sought after are maturity and the ability to exercise sound judgement in addition to having strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
The ideal candidate’s preferred key competencies are in Staffing, Organisation Development and Business Partnering. Compensations and Benefits are well supported by Corporate as is HR Systems.
