Summary
Oversees the delivery of global mobility services for NYUSH, such as immigration, relocation, transition, orientation, and on- and off-boarding services for faculty, administrators, staff, and researchers. Be responsible for the relevant database and system maintenance. The position plays an important role in supporting the HR Director.
1. Responsibilities
Develop and oversee the campus's global mobility services, including international relocation, shipment, settling services, school access, and cross-cultural orientation.
Plan and implement ongoing new joiner communications strategy with third-party providers. Cultivate various external relationships in the service of strategic goals.
Supervise immigration services and government clearance processes for staff, faculty, and the institution. Ensure high-quality service delivery, compliance with Chinese regulations, and proactive response to a variety of NYUSH stakeholder needs. Supervise government relations/liaise with various ministries/departments to seek institutional and individual clearances/permissions where provision of such services are part of Human Resource department's responsibility.
Spearhead various projects and initiatives, such as HR website development, orientation, and various cyclical and ad hoc projects. Provide advice and support to Director of HR.
Coordinate the planning and synchronization of comprehensive on-/off-boarding processes for staff and faculty. Collaborate with campus-wide stakeholders (e.g., HR, operations groups, Provost Office, etc.) to ensure a high-quality experience for new-joiners/leavers and to help facilitate optimal tracking of movement and services in response.
2. Qualification
Required Education
BA degree preferably in human resources management or related field
Required Experience
Minimum overall 3-5 years experience in progressively responsible human resources management positions, preferably in an academic setting.
Previous experience in a range of key HR disciplines, such as recruitment, global mobility, compensation and benefits, learning and development, etc.
Minimum 2 years previous experience managing key functions in a global HR practice.
Proven experience supervising individuals and teams at various levels.
Demonstrated experience in managing projects, managing resources, and projecting future capacity.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Superior interpersonal and written communication skills.
Excellent mediation and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated record of effective collaboration with Administrators and faculty at all levels.
Ability to use good judgment, discretion, diplomacy, flexibility, and initiative.
Previous experience in higher education.
