The Autodesk Simulation and Cloud Platform Quality Assurance Team are seeking an accomplished individual to oversee the quality strategy of technologies being developed to enable Cloud/Web/Mobile/Social applications. You will play a key role in defining and executing customer-centric validation strategies that ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction in delivering our Design and Simulation solutions as Cloud, Web and/or Mobile applications. We seek a strong software quality assurance engineer with demonstrated success in delivering high quality Cloud/Web/Mobile solutions, prior leadership experience and passion to represent the customer, hands-on skills in defining validation strategies of online technologies, automated testing and quality metrics development. The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication skills.

Position Summary:
This is a senior QA position that will provide technical leadership to drive our vision of Cloud/Social/ Mobile. The position reports to the Manager of Quality Assurance for Simulation & Cloud Platform technologies but will also interface with executive management, product management, development, user experience and customers. Background should include Software Testing strategies & execution in the areas of Cloud, Social, Web and Mobile applications. Knowledge or experience with Engineering Design and/or Simulation technologies would be a plus.

Responsible for leading an effective QA engineering team, developing/driving a coherent & progressive, QA strategy for Autodesk's Cloud Platform technologies. Provide technical leadership to the team through the entire process (requirements, design, review and coding, stabilization, beta, and release).


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
This role requires an individual with good leadership skills, strong customer focus and ability to drive quality in a predictable manner. The successful candidate will have a passion and commitment to work closely with a QA software architect to create on overarching test strategy for the validation of complex software delivered in a Cloud/Web/Mobile environment.

? Develop a comprehensive testing plan targeted at providing an incredible online experience.
? Define and provide direction on best test methods for Cloud/Web/Social/Mobile engineering applications.
? Establish and drive process for automated testing of online applications.
? Develop and drive test strategies that have the highest ROI.
? Ensure horizontal testing in the rest of the product & adjacent areas is aligned with delivering an amazing user experience.
? Technical Leadership
? Proactively lead by example. Serve as a means from which teammates can learn as well as advance their ideas and proposals.
? Develop and drive vision for analytics required in delivering high quality cloud applications.
? Aid team members in developing skills necessary to achieve the outlined strategy.
? Work with sub-team to define necessary processes and make sure they are followed.
? Actively engage in technical issues from customers and drive them to resolution.
? Mentor team members in the following areas:
o Increase technical knowledge.
o Increase domain testing knowledge.
o Improve problem solving skills.
? Effectively communicate/collaborate/negotiate across teams.
? Build and maintain good working relationships with all product teams.
? Be a champion of the overall strategy and act as an ambassador for the QA organization in other forums.
? Drive automation strategy, design for testability and code coverage.
? Provide project oversight.
? Assist managers in the evaluation, scope, cost, and staffing of projects. Assist in the development of schedule for project deliverables.
? Serve as the liaison to QA management for project status, overall quality status, and risks.
? Investigate and communicate anything that may impede progress on projects.
? Meet with sub-team to discuss issues/concerns/planning/status updates.
? Hold each team member accountable for the project deliverables & deadlines they are working towards.
? Develop, implement, track and report team metrics.
? Track effectiveness of test methods - well established ones as well as experiments. Propose changes required to make them effective.
? Make sure project deadlines for new work and experiments are met and inform management when deadlines are at risk.
? Keep the team apprised of pending events and milestones.


Requirements:
? Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering position delivering Cloud, Web and Mobile applications - QA or Software development preferred.
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Master's degree preferred.
? Working knowledge of QA methodologies.
? Java, C++ or other object oriented programming language required.
? Experience with Selenium or any other OO test automation framework.
? Experience with Python scripting.
? Experience with JMeter or any other similar load & performance testing tools.
? Experience in start-to-finish software development lifecycles (from User Experience design to a live production environment).
? Experience with large-scale software deployments.
? Understanding and working experience of Agile/Scrum methodology is required. (JIRA experience preferred).
? Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform root cause analysis of defects in complex software components and services.
? Excellent communication skills required.
? Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results.
? Demonstrable understanding of Simulation technologies is a plus.
