Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities
1. Lead and execute sheet technology programs to drive short and long term business growth strategy. 2. Drive Platform and Next Generation Product technology efforts, and work closely with the business to develop innovative solutions. 3. Provide technical support to product marketing and application development projects. 4. Act as prime contact for technical questions on sheet portfolio and interact with technical experts on other poles. 5. Support manufacturing in product translations and, as needed, to troubleshoot and optimize performance. 6. Comply with all GE EHS rules and regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
1.PH D or Master degree in Polymer Science & Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering.2.Strong knowledge of polymer science and/or processing. Affinity with Building & Construction segment is desired. 3.Demonstrated technology excellence with proven ability of program management and coordination.4.Excellent written and oral communication, organization and interaction skills in both English and Chinese. 5.Ability to work in cross-functional and remote teams. 6.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.7.High energy, results-oriented.

GE中国研究开发中心（CTC）是GE公司四个全球研发中心之一，是跨业务集团、跨研究领域的研发机构，为GE各业务集团提供基础科学研究、新产品开发、工程开发和采购服务。

中心坐落于上海张江高科技园区，占地面积47,000平方米，于2003年5月投入使用，是国内最大的独立外资研发机构之一，也是国内极少数具有基础科学研究能力的企业研发中心。

GE中国研发中心现有研发人员1400多人，60多个拥有世界一流设备的实验室，其研究力量主要集中在以下领域：

• 清洁能源，包括洁净煤、风电、太阳能发电等；
• 水处理与海水淡化；
• 材料科学，包括纳米材料、晶体、陶瓷，材料分析；
• 电力电子和实时控制；
• 先进制造技术；
• 影像技术；
• 化学技术，如导电高分子，电化学技术;
• 传感与检测技术；
• LED照明；
• 交通运输等

GE中国研发中心每年完成100多个研究项目。截至2009年底，GE在中国的研发人员共申请了450余项专利。
