Microsoft Azure provides customers an on-demand, scalable infrastructure + platform to build, host, and operate services through Microsoft’s global data centers. Azure Managed Edge (AME) is a brand-new effort to expand the Azure to edge locations and enterprise data centers. Our goal is to enable Azure services in thousands of edge sites. AME needs to address challenges across the board including defining edge hardware, landing Azure services, security considering, and lifecycle management experience.

Our team is looking for a top-notch Software Engineer to help bootstrap this effort to enable Azure Storage Services, one of the largest scale storage service on the planet, in the Edge. You will need to customize Azure Storage (including Disks, Object Storage, Files and Data Services) to meet the dynamic needs of Edge computing. You will also build management, monitoring, diagnostics and DevOps experience to operate Storage Services in thousands of Edge sites.

Responsibilities 

We expect you will think critically, work pragmatically and with enthusiasm in a fast-moving environment. You will need a strong sense of responsibility and drive to dive into complex technical areas across Azure Compute, Storage and Networking.

                                                                                                                                                                 Qualifications 

You MUST possess the following attributes:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Passionate about writing code and proficient in at least one of the mainstream languages: C++, C#, Java, Python
• Excellent problem analyzing and solving skills
• Good team spirit and good oral/written communication skills in English
• Be responsible and proactive
  
  

These attributes are preferred:

• Experience in cloud development principles and patterns, particularly loosely coupled architectures and micro-services
• Experience in building distributed services or storage systems.
