Primary Function:

This role will support Operations with the implementation of the HSE management requirements at Guangzhou site. They will support all stakeholders with all HSE local legal regulations, updated regulations changes and ensure they meet compliance requirements. They will coordinate the completion of all HSE programs in their assigned location.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Works closely with Corporate/Regional HS&E and taps into a support network of HS&E Site Representatives across the organization and works towards building a strong culture of health, safety and environment within CSA Group. Key duties include:

• Ensures compliance with HSE legislation, under the guidance of Corporate/Regional HSE.

• Supports with the implementation and continuous improvement for all HSE Management system requirement at local site.

• Collaborates with relevant parties to help implement HS&E activities to ensure continuous compliance with established internal procedures.

• Takes actions to achieve HSE objectives and KPIs.

• Works with managers and staff to identify hazards/ environmental aspects, assists with assessing risk and establishing controls as required.

• Reports Hazard/Near Miss/Incidents and performs incident investigation on a timely matter.

• Coordinates and assists with the external and internal auditors activities as applicable

• Analyzes the root cause for all non-conformances and incidents and will provide recommendations for all necessary corrective actions to the manager and/or Regional HSE Manager

• Coordinates and may deliver HSE trainings / meetings to site employees and other necessary communications as required.

• Reports on the progress made toward achieving objectives and addressing non-conformances as required.

• Under supervision, will coordinate and work with all contractors as needed.

• Ensures the ERP is up to date and organizes drills accordingly.

• Coordinates all HSE inspections, including workplace inspection, fire extinguisher/ suppression system / first aid kit/ AED/ ladder/ chemical storage/ compressed gas cylinders/ etc.

• Assists with site PPE requirements.

• Will monitor the correct use of V-EHS by all other employees.

• Other HSE related jobs assigned.

  

Preferred Education & Experience:  

• Bachelors Degree; preferable with Electric/mechanic/Engineering or other related majors.

• 3-5 years HSE related experience.

• Familiar with HSE regulatory requirements.

• Familiar with ISO14001 ISO45001 or OHSAS 18001 Standard.

• Good communication and interpersonal skill.

• Experience with operational management of occupational health, safety and environment needs.

• Hands on in implementing health, safety and environment policies, procedures and practices in various work environments (Office, Lab etc.).

• Experience with chemicals is valued.

• Good interpersonal skills, problem solving/analysis

• Good English and computer skill.
