JOB SUMMARY
The position is mainly to develop the organization capabilities in terms of:

    

This is a technical professional development role. The main responsibility is to develop the exterior wall paint. The candidate will work in Shanghai Songjiang and can move to our new Coating Global Innovation Center (GAIC) in TEDA (Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area), China.

        

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

    

The key performance objectives for the “Position” include:

1. Development of local architecture paint in China market to meet the increasing market needs, (e.g. water base interior and exterior wall flat paint, aluminum paint, stucco paint, stone finished, elastic paint, infrared reflective paint etc.);
2. Modifying and upgrading the existing products
3. Cost-saving by introducing different raw materials or optimizing existing formula compositions
4. Evaluating new emerged raw materials and utilizing their advantages in product development
5. Providing technical support to plant on critical quality issues
6. Delivering field trouble-shootings and technical trainings
7. Carry out all work in the technical plan in accordance with PPG EHS & PS requirements

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

1. Plan, conduct experimental work and analyze experimental results effectively to develop new exterior wall coating platform technologies and products.
2. Work closely with synthesis, formulation, processing and application to deliver results against aggressive timelines.
3. Build and maintain an understanding of architectural coating technology, processes, market and customers.
4. Stay up-to-date to customer and market needs, mega trends, and competitive landscape.
5. Maintain and communicate results through written and verbal summaries, coatings reports, and gate review updates.

                        

    

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor or above, major in polymer, materials, chemistry or related fields is required.
2. At least 5 years coating working experience is required. Strong technical background in exterior / floor  paint related industry.
3. Strong logical thinking & fast learning is preferred.

                

    

SKILLS

1. Proved effective communication skills and team work sense; Open minded team player, also self-   starter; PC skills: E-mail, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power point, etc.
2. Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
