ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Human Resources Business Partner, Greater China will report to the APAC Senior Director of Human Resources and will be a key Business Partner to our Vice President for Greater China. This individual will be responsible for providing HR leadership to the Greater China organization which has a combined employee population of approximately 180.

The ideal candidate will be an influential leader capable of working with a diverse group of senior managers with varying styles. He / she will be responsible for understanding the business objectives of our Greater China business unit and providing the appropriate Human Resources expertise, process and / or programs to deliver business results.

The candidate must be capable of working in and through a culturally diverse, geographically broad, matrix management environment with both business leaders and HR peers.

Strategic Business Partner

Partner with business leaders to develop business objectives and plans.
Engage in strategy assessment, contribute to the organization's strategy to identify appropriate resources, reflect and raise / advise concerns around delivery capabilities.
Drive the horizontal alignment of objectives, work and communication across the organization by working closely with human resources leaders in various parts of the company.
Translate and implement defined HR strategies into regionally / locally applicable action plans, liaise and consult with the Centers of Excellence to achieve particular needs of the business

Change Leadership & Executive Coaching & Organizational Effectiveness

Anticipate change, influence and support organizational change initiatives. Design and apply change management strategy.
Strengthen the senior leadership team by providing coaching and counsel to senior executives to further develop their leadership capability. Ensure that a strong leadership culture permeates the organization.
Partner with leadership team to design and build a stronger organization capable of delivering against the strategic goals and objectives of the business.
Provide expertise for organizational design and development.
Facilitate effective people strategy development discussions with management teams and support managers in forecasting and planning talent pipeline within the businesses' strategy.
Liaise with Business and HR Leadership in order to resolve highly complex issues and organizational challenges.

HR Leadership - Employee Engagement, Retention & Development

Ensure that there is a compelling Employee Value Proposition that is evangelized internally and externally
Understand employee satisfaction levels and dynamics within and the business and actively drive the great place to work agenda.
Partner with the Internal communications team to create a robust employee communications agenda
Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure there is a viable talent pipeline at all levels and within all functions and ensure internal external recruitment practices are best-in-class
Drive the organization's Talent Review process and ensure it continues to be an important lever for the business.
Ensure a robust Learning & Organization Development roadmap for the business; build a sustainable organization by partnering with the L&OD team to ensure that appropriate development programs and succession plans are in place for personnel at all levels in the organization.
Ensure that job design provides empowerment and line of sight to the customer
Partner with the Compensation & Benefits team to ensure that appropriate reward and recognition programs are in place
Communicate and educate around performance management philosophies, processes and timelines and ensure that there is real differentiation in how performance is managed


WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

A business leader who has enjoyed a vibrant career with 10 years of progressive experience in providing HR leadership, management and direction within a globally matrixed HR environment.
Proven experience in providing strategic HR support coupled with a vision for what HR can deliver that goes far beyond policy and procedure.
Experience in a start-up or expanding business would be advantageous, and experience in a portfolio role supporting multiple geographies is essential
Track record of implementing innovative HR solutions that drive transformation, change and growth and support strategic business objectives. Experience specifically in the areas of organizational change management, business planning, policy implementation, human capital strategy design, coaching, and program management is highly desired.
Experience in development, presentation and implementation of HR best practices and initiatives.
Progressive experience in providing leadership, management and direction in HR. The individual should be a respected authority in connection with international, country and region-specific trends and regulatory requirements.
Significant experience interfacing and influencing at the executive staff level.
Proven experience in leading, managing and developing people.
Strong fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Strong working knowledge of PC based Internet and software applications.

Thought leader in global HR trends; knowledge of HR trends in the industry
Ability to build partnerships with executive level leadership, mid-level managers, and front-line employees
Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated effective listening and questioning skills.
Operate to the highest standards of integrity and honesty and be a behavioral role model

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree required; post graduate credentials are an added bonus.
