Specific duties include:

• To plan and teach mandarin to the children in Early Years;
• To attend parents evenings and meetings pertaining to Early Years Mandarin
• To complete all assessment tasks and write reports for EY Mandarin
• To be present in the classroom at all times as directed by the class teacher
• To take the class to and from specialist lessons and remain with the class in the lesson when directed by the class teacher
• To work alongside the class teacher to create an environment in which the pupil’s learning flourishes
• To be responsible with the class teacher for the pastoral care of the children in their class and to be involved in the pastoral care of all children in the DUCKS
• To take part in the planning and preparation for learning both inside and outside the classroom as directed by the class teacher
• To play a lead role in the College Chinese New Year celebrations
• To facilitate the learning of individual children or small group of children under the direction of the class teacher and in consultation with the class teacher
• To be involved in the assessment of children in their care
• To maintain discipline in the manner agreed and set out in the policy
• To attend staff meeting as required for DUCKS as a whole, with year group colleagues and for subject specific meetings
• To attend College events when directed by the Head of DUCKS
• To take part in the INSET programme in DUCKS when directed by the Head of DUCKS
• To undertake supervisory duties in the playground as directed by the Deputy Head of DUCKS
• To accompany children to the school buses and ensure they are safely on board at the end of each day
• To participate in the extra curricular life of the pupils by leading, organizing or being involved in extra curricular activities within the school day at DUCKS and for at least one hour a week in either Junior or Senior School.
• To cover bus monitor relief duties when directed by the Head of DUCKS
• to carry out other duties, as may be reasonably requested by the Headmaster of Dulwich College Shanghai
• To undertake any reasonable request made by the line manager that ensures consistent delivery of service to the College (including emergency Bus Monitor cover duty where required)
