We are now seeking a Manager – Technical Marketing (APAC) to lead our technical and market development support to customers (both internal and external), innovation, identifying and developing new end uses, developing and introducing new and more efficient processing technologies, and conducting market research to develop value propositions for guiding activities.
This role is a great opportunity for a techno-commercial leader who thrives on driving collaboration and alignment, and is proven in driving results through team and self. Reporting to the Country Manager – China, you will be expected to lead the team in the following:
- People management and development
- Help the company develop people by actively mentoring and training people to strive for continuous improvement in delivering the best possible commercial performance Technical.
- Serve as the lead glass and ceramics subject matter expert for the company.
- Contributes to developing RTB knowledge of glass and ceramic applications, and serves as SME for all glass and ceramics technical literature and presentation materials globally.
Leads APAC technical service specialists to:
- Work with key and target customers in qualifying our products, processes and provide respected technical consultancy to these customers to differentiate RTB from its competitors.
- Deliver effective and timely technical support to customers, distributors, sales and other internal departments to address customers’ queries and/or issues in conjunction.
- Identify customer and market requirements and recommends or develops solutions to develop RTB business.
- Develop value proportion for our products, including ViU assessments
- Develop relationships with key customers and influences the decisions of specifiers, industry associations, academia and external development partners in APAC and in the glass sector.
- Serve as the technical lead on APAC product stewardship matters and projects, as well as global projects when the expertise is required.
Marketing
- Monitors industry trends to support demand and growth planning with a focus on glass and ceramics
Reputation and brand building
- Establishes and manages relationships with key technical institutes in APAC, as well as in the glass industry globall
- Engage in external forums (e.g. present at conferences and write journal articles) to help enhance RTB’s reputation as a solution provider, innovator and supplier of choice
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline preferably in chemical engineering material engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in technical roles in the glass or ceramics sector, or the borates industry
- Proven leadership experience
- Outstanding knowledge of the glass and or ceramics sector
- Outstanding knowledge of current and emerging needs of the industry ranging from technical products to environmental regulations etc.
- Strong command of English language, verbal and written
- Proven abilities in navigating and operating successfully in a matrix organization, with stakeholders’ engagement and business partnering skills being key requisites.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, and working through a networked organisation in achieving results.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interact at all levels of the organisation and with customers.
- Ability to manage external relationships and influence commercial and technical outcomes including at a senior level
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- PHD in relevant science field
