·         Enters transactions into cash register to calculate total purchase price.

·         Accepts cash, checks, or bankcards for payment; completes check and bankcard transactions according to established procedures.

·         Counts money, gives change and issues receipt for funds received.

·         Calculates discounts or references; requests customer identification for certain discounts and receipts as required.

·         Maintains sufficient amounts of change in cash drawer.

·         Balances cash drawer and receipts; and looks out for discrepancies.

·         Trains new cashiers.

·         Keeps register area neat and stocked with necessary supplies.

·         Computes and records totals of transactions.

·         Keeps periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.

·         Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.

·         Establishes or identifies prices of food, beverage, goods, and tabulates bills using POS system.

·         Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.

·         Issues beverage coupons.

·         Compiles and maintains non-monetary reports and records.
