Job Title: Membership Sales Manager

Report to: Senior Director

Position Objective:

The position is responsible to grow the Chamber’s corporate membership base through new membership growth programs. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing new sales strategies that will enhance the mix and enhance the corporate membership level at the Chamber. The incumbent will be responsible for adding at least 150 new corporate members every year. The incumbent will directly report to the Senior Director.

 

Key role and responsibilities:  

You need to support the company/membership team leadership, and oversee AmCham Shanghai business in China, including but not limited to member acquisition, member engagement, and monetization.

 

Major Responsibilities:

   ·      Communicate and align on membership strategy, in solid plan with clear objectives and milestones

   ·      Lead development of co-membership, including business development, member benefit customization and benefit negotiation/purchase accordingly

   ·      Lead monetization, including product and services development, sales network (YRD membership sales team)

   ·      Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, vendors and other membership related stakeholders

                                       

     1)     Direct the Chamber’s sales work for corporate memberships.

     2)     Develop and execute a sales strategy plan.

     3)     Develop new and innovative membership development channels, programs, partnerships and revenue streams.                           

     4)     Accelerate the Chamber’s transition to a more assertive approach to membership sales.

     5)     Successfully achieve an overall target of 150 new corporate members in 2019.

     6)     Handle sales inquiries and close sales deals to reach expats, internationals and multinationals.

     7)     Understand and use the Chamber’s CSR system to keep track of sales work.        

     8)     Create Monthly Sales Reports, listing contacts made by phone, email, and in person, with results and follow-up action plan. Submit Call Plan with prospects identified for the following week.

     9)     Promote the Member Referral Program.

     10)   Support programs and membership service organization to meet the targets of membership retention   

                                      

Qualifications (Skills and experience required):

   ·      Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years in Business Development and /or Sales roles   

   ·      Experience in sales process development and tracking

   ·      A self-starter and ‘outside of the box” thinker

   ·      Excellent connections in expat communities

   ·      Strong relationship with foreign companies

   ·      Excellent customer service skills and congenial in attitude

   ·      Fluent in English and Chinese.

   ·      A quick learner with ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work with financial targets
