GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Production Manager oversees and manages all roller and other TPU and Urethene custom products activities in the factory to ensure the most cost effective products are manufactured while meeting our Safety, Quality, and Delivery goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1)Supervision
a)Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
b)Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; developing; coordinating, and enforcing systems; policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
c)Administers bonus structure for appropriate personnel as approved according to EHC's approved procedures.
d)Ensures direct reports understand the bonus structure and know how to align personal performance with Departmental, Shanghai, and Corporate goals in order to earn the bonus.
2)Health & Safety
a)Maintains a safe, healthy, and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of PPE, due diligence, and all Health & Safety practices; establishing, implementing, following, enforcing and promoting EHC Health & Safety policies and procedures; adhering to current legislation; by participating in monthly EHC Health and Safety Committee meetings. Responsible for the Health & Safety program; responsible for ensuring training is provided to employees on an annual, and as needed basis and documentation of the training for EHC employees is complete.
3)Budget Process
a)Is responsible and accountable to establish the budget for the Polymer facility (including the preparation of capital, personnel, and expense budgets for the facility and on a monthly basis, monitors and recommends corrective actions where necessary.
b)Monitors and acts upon incorrect information found in the actual performance by comparing actual costs to the established budget or to historical data.
4)Productivity
a)Reviews production activities daily; develops production plans and work/shift schedules to maximize efficient use of resources; monitors production statistics in order to direct efforts that will provide the greatest improvement to downtime reduction and increased throughput; monitors the use of labour, materials, supplies, utilities in order to direct efforts to reduce waste and costs; coordinates and ensures process enhancements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner.
b)Responsible for Production Scheduling to ensure acceptable Standard Delivery Dates are maintained and met.
5)Sales
a)Identifies opportunities to increase customer value or increase company profitability.
b)Is responsible for maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with all EHC companies and outside the organization.
6)Maintenance
a)Responsible for daily regular maintenance of the facility.
7)Quality
a)Responsible for ensuring products and services meet approved standards at EHC by following and enforcing EHC and ISO quality standards; the maintenance of document control of factory work instructions and factory control quality plans.
b)Reviews processes and products for ongoing improvements to prevent potential quality failures and scrap.
c)Addresses Corrective Action Requests by investigating the causes and making improvements to prevent recurrence.
d)Co-responsible for meeting customer satisfaction goals set by China and Corporate.
8)Reports
a)Responsible for preparing and submitting reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing month-end data and providing recommendations to management for improvements.
b)Responsible for the maintenance of the Roller ST Chart and providing updates on a monthly basis.
9)Technical Knowledge
a)Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/seminars; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
10.0Team Effort
Contributes to team effort by participating in work teams and accomplishing results as needed with the different facilities or departments.
Key Attributes
? Above college education major in engineering with technical knowledge structure or equivalent.
? Minimum of 5 years experience of management in manufacturing environment. Experience in engineering polymer product plant for OEM is a plus.
? Maintain and upgrade current production process and procedures improvement.
? Skill of JIT, KanBan, 5S is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access; ERP
? Ability to communicate in both verbal and written professional business format in Chinese and English
