• Develop strategic and tactical plans for addressing test requirements for New Product Launch.
• Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, technology, and personnel in producing quality products.
• Acts as a liaison with engineering and plant in releasing new products to manufacturing sites.
• Develop Test Strategies based on cost and quality goals.
• Prepare test equipment quotations based on agreed test strategies and specifications, and recommend method of sourcing of equipment – in-house design & build, or contracted out.
• Produce test equipment specifications ensuring optimum test performance, minimum test times, and commonality of design while satisfying accuracy, reliability, maintainability, usability, and flexibility requirements.
• Design, build and commission equipment to the highest possible standard, with support from other engineers and/or outside contract resources as applicable to a project.
• Prepare technical equipment manual/design file to include equipment drawings, specifications, records of all major design decisions, test results and change requests/authority etc.
• Manage a team of Software Engineers (C#, C++, Visual Basic 6.0, TestStand) to a high standard, employing best practice principles ensuring integrity of the test system and of the product.
• Manage a team of Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, Test Engineers and other talents, as needed
