Initial Term: 1 year, extendable. The reciprocal goal is to establish a long term working relationship.

Probation Period: 1 month. The criteria to be met are the Main Requirements and Main Duties below mentioned.

Main Practice Areas:

1.   INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS (Agency, Distribution, Sale and purchase, Supply)

2.    FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS (especially Sino-foreign joint ventures, and also wholly foreign owned enterprises, and representative offices)

3.    MERGER AND ACQUISITIONS

4.    COMPLIANCE

5.    INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

6.    LABOUR

7.    INTERNATIONAL DISPUTES (court proceedings and arbitrations on the above mentioned areas)

 

Main Requirements:

1.    3-5 years of experience in the above mentioned practice area;

2.    excellent command of English language (written and spoken) at least IELTS 7.5 or TOEFL 100;

3.    good character, hardworking, responsible, proactive, quick mind, willing to take challenges, to work under pressure, humble, patient, eager to learn, detailed oriented, team player, with problems solver attitude, punctual to deliver the required work, capable to deliver high-quality works and to meet clients expectations;

4.    PRC Bar exam passed and lawyer license obtained;

5.    strong legal analysis skills and solid and comprehensive legal knowledge;

6.    ability in coaching and leading junior associates;

7.    good time-management skills to prioritize tasks and able to handle multiple cases at the same time;

8.    good drafting skills for contracts, memoranda and emails;

9.    excellent communication skills;

10.  excellent skills in using Word, Excel and Power Point;

11.  better if the candidate has gathered experience in working with foreign clients or with significant study experience abroad.

 

Main Duties: include, among the others:

-          ensuring that the deadlines agreed with the clients or with the Partner are timely respected;

-          ensuring that the quality of the work produced does not contain mistakes, is of high quality and meet clients and Partner’s expectations;

-          providing reports, when requested by Partner, on the status of the cases that have been assigned to you and that you are leading also with the help of other associates;

-          prepare drafts of engagements letters, collect, review and amend the timesheets of the whole working team, coordinate the preparation (or prepare directly) the invoices to be sent to clients;

-          making sure that the admin activities required by the Firm (including finance department/office manager) with respect to the team are duly and timely fulfilled;

-          informing the Partner about any business development opportunity or idea as to develop work opportunities;

-          helping the Partner to strengthen the team building;

-          complying with the Main Duties and Main Requirements above mentioned as well as with Team Guideline that will be provided to the candidate upon preliminary examination of the candidate;

-          complying with all firm policies and rules and professional code of conduct.
