JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Metals

Reports to: Director Manufacturing, Metals

Working Location: Shanghai

Responsibilities:

• Work with strategic, marketing and engineering teams to plan future metal manufacturing capabilities in China.
• Oversee and work with each plant to continuously optimize and standardize assembly processes regarding to quality, delivery, safety, and costs. Introduce and improve methods to safeguard quality index.
• Work with plant to set up uniform collection and reporting of seating plants measurable at all facilities to ensure that Best Practices can be quickly identified and propagated throughout Asia.
• Identify the saving opportunities, develop and propose the action plan to reduce the manufacturing costs by automation, layout optimization, and improvements on maintenance, planning, logistics and quality.
• Analyze problem areas, i.e., unsafe conditions, acts or equipment and take immediate action.
• Support new program and new plant launch, analyze and report the investment plan, and ensure Adient standards to be followed and a benchmark line/plant to be built.
• Manage, motivate and develop team members to ensure optimum performance, efficiency and effectiveness of the seating activities are achieved and business strategy is implemented.

Requirements:

• Bachelor or above in Engineering, such as mechanical or industrial.
• 10+ years’ experience in automotive seating metals and mechanism, at least 3 years in management function.
• Strong knowledge in equipment, solid experience in tooling, fixtures selection, purchasing and installation is mandatory as well as launch management.
• Good at cost analysis, assembly time calculation, manufacture feasibility study, PFMEA, safety, and control plan of new products.
• Proven experience with Quality Standards (QS9000, TS16949) and Manufacturing Operating Systems, 6-sigma certificate is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, experience in dealing with JV is highly preferred.
• Energetic, highly motivated and self-confident, excellent presentation skills is preferred.
• Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
