Title: (Senior) Manager – Advanced Analytics

Company/Location: GTB / Shanghai office

Department/Discipline: Marketing Science Unit

Overview: Reporting to the Marketing Analytics Director, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in the applied use of databases and statistics, a comprehensive understanding of business modeling and a good sensitivity for meaningful insights.

The candidate should also be a pro-active communicator, able to work closely with internal teams including the account team, the off-shore data team and other MSU members to build marketing models that lead to valuable insights for our clients in various markets across Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct hands on modeling/advanced analytics retrieving, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources into distilled, actionable information. Major model types include time series sales analysis and logistical regression analysis.
• Manage modeling projects throughout the process from data collection, data cleaning, modeling and presentation. Develop recommendations and clearly communicate results of analysis to internal / external teams.
• Leverage analytical tools (E.g., R, SQL, VBA) to achieve better efficiency / automation for the workstreams within MSU team.
• Coach modeling team members in modeling knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc or MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Marketing Analytics or any other equivalent education with significant analytical content;
• 4+ years of experience in an advanced analytical role. Preferably in the automobile industry;
• Good understanding of statistics and commonly used marketing statistical models (E.g., linear regression, logistic regression, decision tree);
• The ability to analyze and translate data and research findings into insights and recommendations for client presentations;
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel / MS PowerPoint / R (or SAS / SPSS) / SQL (or VBA);
• Fluent oral and written Mandarin and English.
