Position Overview:

    

In this role, the Advancement Support Assistant of Institutional Advancement Office (IAO), UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) works for the senior management to become adept in administrative support for institutional advancement. Working closely with the Advancement Team and other JI’s departments/terms, the Advancement Support Assistant is responsible for developing and implementing stewardship management service, advancement database, prospect research and other administrative works to meet JI’s advancement goals. He or she needs to be energetic and self-motivated to ensure the values of participation, partnership, social responsibility, high effectiveness and accountability are reflected in work.

    

    

Essential Duties:

1. Implements stewardship plan and manages stewardship works for gift records and recognitions.

2.Manages data acquisition including updating data information of donors, alumni, students & parents, cooperates and organizations etc.

3. Supports a process that prompts executives to update progress reports for major donors regularly or non-regularly, as appropriate.

4. Makes prospect research to support development identifications, cultivation and solicitations.

5. Manages office file archiving and improve office database.

6. Provides service to office operations, receptions and outreach.

7. Assists in affairs and activities of volunteers and committees/boards.

8. Assists in advancement communication outputs that complement and enhance development activities.

9. Assists in alumni and parents engagement, as needed.

10. Assists in development proposals, as needed.

11. Supports administrative works for EDP program, as needed.

12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties, as needed.

    

Required Qualifications:

1. Education in Master’s Degree.
2. A minimum of one year intern or working experience.
3. Work hard and independently, strong responsibility and reliability.
4. Good at organizing and planning, problem identification and solving.
5. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Persist in adversity and high adaptability, good collaboration capability.
7. Proficient in office computer practice.

   8. The following is preferred: (1).Major in Education, Public Administration, Economy, Management, Engineering etc. (2) Having working experience of administration or assistant.
