OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:
The Marketing Director has the task of defining, developing and executing a marketing strategy and plan that will position the company as the leading online payments brand and service in the Chinamarket. Initially, this will be for the Cross Border niche. However, the role should be able to expand to cover Domestic as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Marketing and Brand Strategy: You will define the China marketing strategy and be responsible for the local positioning and development of the brand
- Brand awareness: You will develop and execute plans to enhance brand awareness of Paypal
- User Acquisition You will be tasked with building a large, dynamic network for Paypal to acquire both Merchants and consumer leads
- Product Marketing. You will lead the formulation of marketing strategy, as well as the execution of new product introductions, including definition of company's value proposition, positioning, and addressable user segments
- Promotion Execution. You will design, execute, and measure the effectiveness of promotional programs in order to drive sustainable long-term user activity and benefits
- User Communications and Direct Marketing. You will handle all marketing onsite and email communications and determine optimal marketing mix to maximize user awareness, conversion, and retention
- Public relations. You will work with PR to design and execute a marketing PR program to effectively build brand's awareness and positioning in the Chinese media/market.
- This position requires you to work closely with International and Paypal global marketing teams.
- Recruit, develop and manage a growing marketing team
- Bachelor Degree or above educational background; Graduate of top business schoolis preferred;
- 12-15 years of marketing experience, with 5 years of internet marketing experience, in a consumer products or financial services business, with a proven track record of success in bringing new internet products to market in an online environment. MNC experience preferred.
- You possess strong experience in various marketing disciplines, including strategy formulation, market segmentation, and expertise in online marketing vehicles.
- Strong understanding of site/e-commerce B2C levers and how they can influence the bottom line, particularly understanding SEM/SEO
- Analytical rigor; problem solver; innovative mindset. Experience with A/B testing.
- Experience in selecting and managing online marketing agencies.
- Self-starter, results- and detail-oriented.
- Being results and execution driven
- Strong communication and people skills, and enjoy working in cross-functional settings.
- People recruitment and management experience.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Knowledge of payments sector in Asia and experience in risk management a plus.
