JOB PURPOSE:  To create Eplan drawing of Order Exaction electrical system, ensure engineering release and change documentation conforms to established engineering practices and maintains Engineering Services data.

JOB DUTIES: This is a salaried position for those that have background in drafting and design layout, standards management and development, and engineering technical data managements or systems. The key role is using engineering data systems and procedures.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role includes any or all of the following:

Learn procedures and system to progress to a the next level of technician

Create Eplan drawing as requested by engineers.

Create CAD drawing or Coreldrawing drawing by engineers.

Ensure engineering release and change documentation conforms to established engineering practices and maintains Engineering Services datas systems.

Identify, create, develop or manage – regulation and standard management or technical date

The incumbent applies tools on a daily basis. This position may receive assistance from more experienced technicians and engineers. The position has some dealing with internal and external customers and may expect to experience any or all of the following: direct contact with electricians and components, working in the field and at the proving grounds observing, operating and testing the product or component, and following establishing guidelines to completed tasks.

The position works with MSE team and is expected to learn the concepts of products application and installation. Situations will dictate that the incumbent  have skill in contributing to team discussions and discussing strengths and weaknesses of options.

Technicians must continuously learn through experience and stay abreast of technology changes. Learning focuses on methods and processes applied to engineering functions, practical application of technical skills, communications and building knowledge of Caterpillar’s products.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Requires and accredited technical associates degree or equivalent

experience. Experience with application of technical practices is desirable. Requires in-depth knowledge of company engineering drawings practices or procedures and knowledge of computer modeling tools or technical data systems. Incumbent will need to communicate effective with team members.

·  Education background: Electrical engineering, Electrical and Mechanical integration, Automation and related engineering.

·  Skill/Application of design tools: EPLAN, AUTOCAD.

·  An ability to effectively and rationally communicate verbally and in writing with both English speaking personnel and those who have English, as a second language is required.

·  Prior experience in an engineering role with Marine & Petroleum as an advantage.
