Dept: Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM)
General Summary: As the Desktop Lifecycle Service Lead for the SACM organization, the incumbent is responsible for the full Desktop lifecycle including the purchase, receipt, distribution, stock, refresh, and disposal in support of approximately 30,000 seats across a region.
Ensure PCs or PC suppliers are staged to provide the appropriate hardware to local personal computing services, desk-side support, and end-user requests within approved OLAs/SLA.
Partners with I/T Shared Services functional organizations and/or vendors to provide in-catalog services cost effectively and with high quality; consults and works with on-site resources, GAM and /or BU IT partners to deliver agreed services or resolve service issues.
As the PC Lifecycle Service Lead, the incumbent is responsible for the full PC lifecycle including the purchase, receipt, distribution, stock, refresh, and disposal in support of the global J&J PC population of approximately 135,000 seats, with direct accountability for all PCs within their assigned region. Establish common processes and procedures to ensure that the PC Lifecycle management process is consistent worldwide. Enable consistent description and performance of the service regardless of location. Ensure optimal PC inventory level is maintained to provide the appropriate hardware to local personal computing services, desk-side support, and end-user requests within approved OLAs/SLA. Partner with I/T Shared Services functional organizations and/or suppliers to provide in-catalog services cost effectively and with high quality; consults and works with on-site resources, GAM and /or BU IT partners to deliver agreed services or resolve service issues.
In addition, the PC Lifecycle Service Lead will take on the role of a SACM Data Analyst for one or more Configuration Item Classes. This role is responsible for monitoring CMDB data across the enterprise to ensure data integrity and identify trends that drive and support business decisions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
? Responsible to use available stock levels and historical / planned PC demand to forecast quantity and purchase schedule
? Partner with vendor to purchase and receipt of new PCs in accordance with applicable Finance and company practices
? Partner with Lenovo (direct or indirect) to forecast future orders and resolve regional order delays
? Coordinate the distribution of stock and incorporate supply chain best practices to speed up delivery and drive out cost
? Partner with site teams to manage various site PC demands (office, lab, manufacturing, warehouse, etc.) or highlight special cases (leased PCs, offline PCs) that will affect future demand forecasting.
? Coordinate the overall progress of PC Refresh including regional deployment schedule, new labor requirements, additional stock requirements, and process escalations.
? Partner with vendors to dispose of PCs and related waste responsibly and efficiently
? Coordinate stock management and PC tracking at each stage of its lifecycle - whether offline or online
? Enable controls to detect and investigate loss
? Execute required tasks to keep and maintain accuracy of CMDB
? Act as SACM regional point of contact as well as escalation contact for Service Delivery Managers, Global Account Management (GAM) partners, Business Unit IT (BU IT) partners and business clients as appropriate
? Perform proactive validations of the data in the CMDB for assigned CI classes in partnership with the Configuration Item Owners and Sector Configuration Managers.
Job Specifications:
? Excellent communication skills (oral, business writing, presenting and listening)
? Strong customer focus and service orientation
? Ability to navigate and produce results in a global, matrix organization
? Broad based, well rounded technical background
? Working knowledge of multiple technical disciplines such as WAN/LAN, MS Windows, Desktop computing software
? Proficient knowledge of PC hardware.
? Excellent analytical skills. Comfortable manipulating large lists of data with Microsoft Excel.
? Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures associated with the ITIL framework
? Familiar with financial and budget management
? Bachelors degree or equivalent and 3 years experience in delivering IT services
