A leading merchant energy company.The company includes the storage, merchandising, marketing and transportation of a wide range of energy and energy related products in domestic and international markets. The products include natural gas, power, natural gas liquids, refined products, crude oil, coal and freight.
Job Description
This role is to provide legal support for trading activities throughout Asia.
Maritime
1. Negotiating and executing time charter agreements
2. Ship construction contracts & disputes
3. Vessel purchase and sale agreements
4. Letters of indemnity & bills of lading guidance
5. Other Maritime related legal tasks including working with outside counsel when required
China
Draft various contracts including Trading, Corporate Finance, service agreements, leases, loan agreements, M&A agreements, dispute resolutions, and other commercial agreements as required
Requirements
1. Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
2. 5+ years' experience in Maritime Law
3. 5+ years' experience working with Financial/Trading Contracts
4. Candidates must be fluent in both English and Chinese
5. Prior experience in Energy Commodities is a preferred
6. Experience working in China or prior experience working with Chinese companies and transactions is plus. Licensed to practice law in China is a plus.
7. Prior exposure to Corporate Finance and experience in Litigation is a plus.
