Position: HAD Development

Division/Department: Volkswagen China Passenger Cars Brand / Technical Development VW

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

• The core mission of this position is to concept technical requirements of HAD (Highly Automated Driving) functions designed for the Chinese market and write the product requirement documents. Furthermore, the position will monitor and ensure the implementation of specified requirements. Thus, the position will be involved in designing and monitoring test cases for HAD components or sub-components together with the testing experts. The contribution of this position will be vital to deliver a robust system from concept through an eventual production launch. The exchange with headquarters and relevant stakeholders will be an essential part of this position’s work. Also, the position will be involved in the supplier selections for components for HAD systems.

Your Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the described scope and tasks within the Chassis Development department of Volkswagen Group China.

• Concept technical requirements of HAD functions designed for the Chinese market and write the product requirement documents based on a previous derivation of function features

• Define technical requirements for subsystem solutions and create architectural designs, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing and future automotive systems/platforms

• Align with relevant stakeholders on HAD customer function features to be developed and derive implications of those functional features for complete system

• Monitor and steer the implementation of specified HAD technical requirements

• Develop test cases with the testing teams to verify functionality and implementation of technical requirements

• Cascade targets and performance requirements to supplier/s and partner/s, and work to integrate them in vehicle systems

• Conduct system design reviews with relevant components and sub-components

• Engage with software and hardware engineers of the autonomous driving / parking project team and external partners / supplier

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

• Bachelor’s /
  Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or
  equivalent

Personal skills:

• Good knowledge of at least one: HAD sensor set (ultrasonic, radar, laser), HAD software components, electronic modules (ECUs), defining vehicle communication architectures

• Knowledge of ISO26262 and SOTIF preferred

• Knowledge of automotive design processes (PEP, Requirements Management process, etc.) and release stages preferred

• Good knowledge of vehicle system architecture preferred

• Structured working style, advanced time management and strong analytical skills

• Strong abilities in independent, self-organized work, and cross-functional/-entity collaboration

Working experience (in years):

• +3 years
  (Bachelor) / +2 (Master) years of relevant work experience at an
  automotive OEM, related Tier 1 supplier or equivalent, preferable in the
  field of HAD systems
• +2 years of
  experience in requirement definition for automotive HAD sensor set
  (ultrasonic, radar, laser), software components or electronic modules
  (ECUs)
• Proven
  experience in system requirements engineering for HAD systems (e.g. EE
  architecture topologies, interfaces, failure analysis etc.)
• Experience in
  supplier management/steering and technical negotiation is preferred
